High speed multi-stage drawing process of hot-dip galvanised steel wires

In this paper, unique tests into the production of galvanised steel wires in industrial conditions were presented. It was demonstrated that three phenomena occur during wire-drawing process at high speeds: namely, zinc sticking to surface drawing drums, coating grinding caused by a larger friction area between tool and material, combined with detachment calibrating part die until wire breaks is interrupted. After speeds (over 15 m/s), characterised thin coat. Depending drawing, drawn dies an α = 7°, relation 3°, 7.8–12% higher yield strength, 3.7–7.1% tensile 16.7% 21.5% lower elongation, 24.3% reduction area, 33% number twist bends, 145.9% stresses.
